Washington Hebrew Congregation
Washington, DC
The proposed Washington Hebrew Congregation strives to bring visibility and accessibility to the building. This new lobby creates a unique identity, creating a dialogue between the existing building and this new entrance. The façade is created with a layering of small icons – the Star of David – creating a subtle identification to the Congregation. The lobby not only acts as an entrance, connecting the Congregation to the school and the synagogue, and accessibility through the elevator, but also creates a distinct outward facing image of the Congregation.
The 2,000 sf lobby uses sustainable materials and energy efficiency. This project aims to meet LEED GOLD Certification.
